Future Of Floor Heating Has Arrived
The TruHeat system is a next generation floor heating system which is an ideal way to add an even gentle heat to floors for any room setting with minimal effort and for a fraction of the price. Thinner than a credit card, TruHeat system will not raise the floor height so there is no need for self-levelers or other messy mortars.
How Does TruHeat System Work?
The TruHeat system works on the simple principle of covering more of the surface area of the floor and operating at a lower operating temperature. The system covers 65% of the floor whereas the traditional cable based systems only cover approximately 20% of the floor surface. Since the TruHeat system covers more of the floor surface area, this means that our patented TruHeat tape does not need to operate at such high temperatures unlike cable based systems. Low voltage is utilized to heat the TruHeat tape which translates into minimum power consumption and added safety for the user.
Cable Based System Coverage
TruHeat System Coverage
What sets the TruHeat system apart from all other systems is our patented TruHeat tape. The TruHeat tape is an aluminum alloy heating element which is 0.5 mm in thickness and 6-12 cm in width (depending on the kit). Low voltage current is passed through the TruHeat tape to start working efficiently and effectively. Several advantages can be had by choosing the TruHeat system over the traditional floor heating systems. Read below to see how choosing the TruHeat system is truly the smarter way to heat
LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION
The TruHeat system only uses 6 watts per sqft. while traditional cable based systems use 12-15 watts/sqft.
PRIMARY HEAT SOURCE
Since the TruHeat system covers more of the floor area, this means the entire room can be heated using the system from the ground up evenly.
The traditional cable based systems use a thin copper wires which means these wires need to be heated at high temperatures to compensate for the gap between them and achieve sufficient heat output. The TruHeat tape uses low voltage to heat up and since the heat tape covers a larger surface area there is absolutely no need to use high temperatures to achieve efficient heat output. In fact, due to low voltage utilization the TruHeat system in-floor heating system operates at temperatures of 28 – 30°C (82– 86°F). The temperature of floor covering generally does not exceed 26°C (79°F) which makes it absolutely safe even for young children.
The TruHeat tape is puncture proof, meaning even if the tape is punctured, the system will still function with no issues. In addition, the TruHeat tape is guaranteed to work for 50 years.
With the TruHeat system, installation is a breeze because the TruHeat tape can be laid down with simple planning and any type of finished floor can go directly on top of it. Click here to see installation methods.
Truly A Smarter Way To Heat
Energy Cost Calculator
The system does not need to run 24 hours a day in order to keep the floor/room warm. Typically, it is ideal to have a running time of about 8 hours a day for the system. With TruHeat system's programmable thermostat the control is always in your hands on how long to keep the system on for.
No Other System Comes Close
TruHeat System vs. Hydronic Systems
No mechanical heaters to heat the water and pumps to move the water.
EVEN HEAT DISTRIBUTION
Water near the end of hydronic system is cooler compared to the water at the beginning of the system.
Water systems must heat the water, then move the water by pumping it through pipes. With TruHeat system low voltage current is passed through the entire tape at once.
DOES NOT RAISE FLOOR HEIGHT
Hydronic systems raise the floor height by as much as 1½ inches to make room for the water pipes.
LOWER COST OF INSTALLATION
No water heaters, pumps, manifolds tubing and other mechanical parts needed.
TruHeat System vs. Baseboard Heaters
EVEN HEAT DISTRIBUTION & ENERGY EFFICIENT
Baseboard heaters are located at the perimeter of the room allowing most of the heat to be near the walls and additional energy is required for the middle of the room to to feel heated. TruHeat system heats the room evenly in all areas of the room at the same time.
Baseboard heaters do not warm the floors and typically there is no warmth on the floors at all since warm air rises. With the TruHeat system you can enjoy walking on nice warm floors.
Baseboard heaters can be hot to the touch.
Baseboard heaters are unsightly while the TruHeat system is not visible after the installation.
